A mammoth 34-story mixed-use tower that would dramatically reshape West Hollywood’s skyline endlessly is heading to the West Hollywood Planning Commission this week.
On Oct. 1, the commission will take into account a proposal for a 514-apartment development at 1000 North La Brea Avenue, on the northeast nook of La Brea and Romaine Street.

The proposed development, introduced ahead by CIM Group, would exchange a former CEMEX concrete batch plant and vacant warehouse with an roughly 352-foot-tall building containing 514 residential models and about 30,000 sq. toes of ground-floor industrial space.
If accepted, the tower would stand far above the current top limits, that are capped at 90 toes, or eight tales.
The proposed project would attain 34 tales with a floor-area ratio (FAR) of 9.85, effectively above the usual most FAR of 3.0.
