Rock icon David Roach has sadly died at the age of 59 after being identified with a “very aggressive” sort of cancer.
The singer, who performed with 80s band Junkyard, had been identified with aggressive squamous cell carcinoma – a sort of pores and skin cancer. His band shared the information of his death on Instagram.
They mentioned, “It is with great disappointment that we announce the passing of David Roach. After a brave battle with cancer, David handed away peacefully final night time at home, in the loving arms of his spouse.”
The assertion continued, “He was a gifted artist, performer, songwriter, and singer — but above all, a devoted father, husband, and brother. Our thoughts are with the entire Roach family and everyone who loved him.”
Prior to David’s death, a fundraiser had been set up to help pay for his medical payments. It has raised $36,048 of its $50,000 goal.
David had married his associate Jennifer, who had to give up her job to grow to be his full-time care giver, just weeks before his death.
Tributes have been pouring in for the musician on social media. “Rest easy, brother. We will miss you. Sending my love to the entire Junkyard family,” one fan commented on Instagram.
Another particular person posted, “He was a great dude with a killer work ethic and much deeper and more intellectual than people may be aware. Real deal rock n roll warrior that never faked it,” while a third added, “Thank you, David Roach. You will live on in our hearts and our souls. Your words and music got me through some dark times. My heart goes out to his friends and loved ones. We lost another legend.”
“Wow, I am so sad right now. You will never be forgotten. I listen to Junkyard every day and will forever be grateful for their music. Rest in a peace David,” another person wrote.

In a post on July 21, David’s spouse had thanked followers for their help and admitted the previous month had been “a nightmare rollercoaster ride, with many ups and downs and differing opinions from various medical teams.”
She continued, “David is in good spirits, keeping his humor alive, and currently enjoying time spent with his close family. Tomorrow, his brothers/bandmates will be joining the party to bring even more love and happiness!
“We’re optimistic about coming home from the hospital within the next few days and we’re undoubtedly not giving up on this combat!! We’ll keep you up to date as we collect more data and the medical groups come collectively as one. Thank you so a lot for your love and help!”
