Reacher fans disappointed with cringe season 3 | TV Shows
Fans of Reacher have been left unimpressed with the latest offering on Prime Video, slamming it as “underwhelming”.
Alan Ritchson’s Jack Reacher plunges into covert action in season three of the Amazon Prime show, attempting to dismantle an influential crime network rumored to be holding a DEA agent captive.
Recent episodes have seen him teaming up with Susan Duffy (played by Sonya Cassidy) from Boston to track down arms dealer Zachary Beck (Anthony Michael Hall), all while grappling with his own dark history.
With high hopes due to its origins in Lee Child’s 2003 novel Persuader, viewers anticipated a thrilling season. Yet, with the finale nearing, there’s been a lot of criticism about the show’s narrative arc.
Fans are voicing their disappointment across social media platforms, hoping the narrative energy will amp up for the forthcoming installment.
On Reddit, one user expressed their displeasure, stating, “99% filler episode that provided little other than moving the story into the final.”
They continued, criticizing the padding, “Lots of exposition just to make sure everyone knows the setup before the final episode.”
Another critic fumed, “Worst episode of Reacher so far, S2 included. So damn boring.”
One particular scene — a romantic fling between Reacher and Officer Duffy in the episode titled L.A. Story — was blasted by fans as “awkward” and dismissed as a mere “obligatory” addition.
A disgruntled fan blurted out, “Are you f kidding me? How more awkward could that sex scene get? ?”
One Reddit contributor lauded the most recent episode, stating it was “probably the best episode of the series so far and the plot has been far better than last season.”
An ardent supporter voiced their eagerness for what’s next, “They’re killing me with these cliffhangers – Episode 8 is going to absolutely go off next week.
“Great episode tonight, a lot of emotion, some back story, bringing all the threads together and also Reacher getting mightily p***ed off, which is never good for the bad guys.”
