Now that we’re only 544 days away from the midterm elections on Tuesday, November third, 2026, I felt it was time to focus on the price range right here in the state of Michigan. 

Truly never too soon, Is It?

Now, before I get rolling on the fundamental level of this article, I had someone ask me when I confirmed them the image I used to be going to use for this article of Governor Whitmer delivering a speech and trying like she was smacking someone. I informed the teen the purpose why I felt this image was applicable was because that’s how I’ve felt the governor has handled the state that elected her twice to the prime job.

Now, the purpose why I’m in the price range is because I recall that former Governor and Republican Rick Snyder was a staunch advocate of retaining Michigan’s price range handed on time and under control. The price range under Snyder’s predecessor, Democrat Jennifer Granholm, all the time ran late or proper up to the deadline to be handed, and Snyder promised to finish that cycle.

The state of Michigan price range mirrors the federal one, and it runs from October 1st until September thirtieth of the next 12 months. Now, one of the issues that I do know about from a former life is that the means the state price range time strains up with colleges and municipalities wants to change. 

Once again, the state’s price range 12 months runs from October 1st to September thirtieth of the following 12 months, and college districts, counties, and different municipalities usually run on a July 1st to June thirtieth schedule.  

That means, take for instance, your native college district has to have their price range set and prepared to roll by July 1st, but the money assured to them by the state may not be settled by that date, which, of course, could cause issues with how a lot money they will spend on July 1st if the state doesn’t have strong numbers for them.
