Actress KJ Smith and her hubby, Skyh Black, have some particular Mother’s Day information; they’re anticipating their first little one!

The beautiful Sistas star and her good-looking All the Queen’s Men hubby broke the information to ESSENCE, telling author Domonique B. Fluker about the deeply personal journey that led Smith from praying for a associate to getting ready for parenthood.
“I wrote a list in my journal 10 years ago,” she stated. “I showed him [Black] the list, and he has all the qualities I wanted as a partner. Write the vision and make it plain. I prayed with my plan and vision, and God blessed me.”

As beforehand reported, the couple tied the knot on September 3, 2023, at the dreamy Malibu Dream Resort in entrance of 150 friends, including Tyler Perry, Loni Love, Eva Marcille, and their BET household. But now, they’re embarking on one other new journey: parenthood.
Smith candidly shared with ESSENCE that she beforehand didn’t want motherhood and had been recognized with fibroids and PCOS, so she accepted a “rich auntie” life. But every thing modified when she met her match in Skyh Black.
“I didn’t meet my husband until effectively into my 30s, so I had already determined. And then when he got here into my life, and you meet a man who is accountable and a chief who takes charge and needs to be a father, needs to have a household, my thoughts modified as we grew and as we grew to become a couple and married,” stated Smith.
“He [Black] was the primary motive I needed a little one. I stated, ‘This would be a good experience with you as my partner and husband.’ So I didn’t anticipate having children at all, and now I need as many as I can have,” Smith says.
She also shared that she and her hubby had even booked a fertility appointment for January 2025 to start IVF, but God had different plans.
Smith came upon she was pregnant on her own just before that appointment—on January 19, to be actual, a second that couldn’t be something more than divine timing.
The being pregnant hasn’t been all easy crusing, though. Smith saved working through season 9 of Sistas while battling prenatal depression and dealing with high hCG ranges in her first trimester.
“I was crying myself to sleep… I had to surrender to God,” she shared with ESSENCE. “And my husband was there with me every step of the way.”
Now feeling and faring a lot better, she’s grateful that her hubby is already giving full-time father power.
“My biological father was very absent in my life,” he informed ESSENCE. “So personally, it’s one thing I’ve at all times dreamed of—how I used to be going to join with my child, foster their goals. I’m elated.”
Skyh’s already beginning morning affirmations with their child, telling them they’re “amazing” and “beautiful.” Meanwhile, Smith is strolling through this expertise with grace and gratitude.
“I feel pretty fearless at this point. This is a reminder of God’s love,” she stated. “I’m so blessed to have a supportive village.”
