Who made it to American Idol Top 5? – TV – | TV Shows
American Idol has narrowed down its season 23 contestants into the Top 5.
The beloved singing competition’s Top 7 took the stage last night and while there is still one week left before the finale, fans believe they already know who won, even despite the contestant’s “cheesy” Disney performance.
The singer in question is John Foster, who did in fact make the five contestants still headed for the win.
The 18-year-old college student started his time on the show singing Alan Jackson’s Don’t Rock the Jukebox. His debut performance had the judges in awe but also reminded him to show more of “who you are” further along in the competition.
He stayed true to his promise during the fan-favorite Disney Night with his rendition of The Princess and the Frog’s Almost There, an homage to his Louisiana roots.
Last but not least, Thunderstorm Artis is the final contestant to make it to the Top 5. The Hawaiian has a little bit more experience than his competition, having previously been a finalist on The Voice. His “beautiful seasoned voice” was present last night during his rendition of Colors of the Wind.
During his audition, he “stood out” to Lionel Richie with an original song about his and his wife’s journey.
The finale of American Idol airs on Sunday, May 18 on ABC at 8pm EST.
