ICE Drops Brilliant Statement on LA Mayor for | Political News

A @FoxNews producer requested LA Mayor Karen Bass this morning if she could be keen to meet with ICE and if there’s a deal to be made re: ICE cooperation. Bass mentioned the only deal is for ICE to go home, and she gave no indication she could be keen to meet w/the company.
That looks like a completely cheap query. If you assume they are going too laborious, why not discuss and work out parameters?
But the only parameter for Bass is that they go home and stop implementing the law, exhibiting it is not about going too laborious or how they’re doing it, it is that they’re implementing the law at all. That’s ridiculous, but that’s where the Democrats are.
Of course, ICE goes to do its job on behalf of the American people, whether or not Democrats like Bass prefer it or not, even in the face of obstruction and threats. They responded with what Melugin termed a “blistering statement” that pokes at her for being out of the nation during the L.A. fires.

That is a brilliant burn from ICE, noting her general failure on behalf of the citizens of Los Angeles.
But she dug a deeper hole when she decided to wade into the responses to Melugin’s tweet. I didn’t see her respond to justify her position, but she did respond to a post from Trump official Stephen Miller when he termed her response the “language of rebellion.”

Bass responded with this, not realizing it’s never a good idea to take on Miller.

Then Miller completed her with the photograph she was “looking for” — one of the various people waving international flags during the L.A. riots, this one infamously standing on a burning car.

I have not seen a response to that.
That’s what she let occur in her metropolis. This is what the left has helped to stoke with the anti-ICE demonization, and her assertion is just one other half of that by appearing as though ICE is in the fallacious. Republicans ought to acquire all these statements from Democrats and play them on a loop in 2026 because this is how the Democrats are defining themselves now.
