Sharon Osbourne disinvites band from Ozzy’s farewell | Music News


Sharon Osbourne, longtime spouse and supervisor of heavy metallic legend Ozzy Osbourne, revealed she disinvited a group from his last Black Sabbath live performance after they tried to revenue from the charity-focused occasion.

“It’s not the time to make a profit,” she informed Billboard forward of the show. “After the show, I’ll let everybody know who it was. I think people will be shocked.”

The live performance, titled Back to the Beginning, marked the final time Ozzy would carry out on stage and introduced Black Sabbath back collectively for the first time in 20 years. The show came about Saturday at Villa Park Stadium in Birmingham, England, where Black Sabbath was shaped in 1968.

The Black Sabbath frontman carried out a five-song, 20-minute set with unique bandmates Geezer Butler, Tony Iommi, and Bill Ward for their first time enjoying collectively in 20 years.

“It’s the last song ever,” Ozzy informed followers before launching into Crazy Train. “Your support has enabled us to live an amazing lifestyle, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. I love you.”

Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler spoke to Billboard about the influence of the show and the help from the rock group.

“It has been overwhelmingly gratifying to have so many major bands showing their love for this band, and willingly doing it all for charity,” Butler stated. “We were always hated by the music press, but the people that matter — the fans and other musicians — have been overwhelmingly supportive of Sabbath and were always proud to acknowledge our influence on them.”
