Paul Di’Anno, the previous frontman of Iron Maiden, tragically handed away last week at the age of 66.
The rocker, who was once the guts and soul of the metallic band, died penniless and alone after being dismissed from the group despite contributing to two hit albums.
Reports recommend that his penchant for partying and medicine created friction within the band, main to his dismissal at the tender age of 23.
In his later years, Paul discovered himself wheelchair-bound and offered his royalty rights for a mere $67k.
Born as Paul Andrews in Chingford, Essex, he joined Iron Maiden in 1978 and departed in 1981.
A neighbor spoke to MailOnline about the tragic event, stating: “Two nurses or carers greeted the paramedics and let them into the property. I think it must have been them who found Paul and raised the alarm.”
The same neighbor fondly remembered Paul as somebody who was “always smiling and waving” whenever they handed by.
Following his death, a assertion from Paul’s label read: “On behalf of his family, Conquest Music are sad to confirm the death of Paul Andrews, professionally known as Paul Di’Anno.”
It continued: “He sang on their groundbreaking debut album Iron Maiden, and the influential follow-up release, eliminateers.
“Since leaving Iron Maiden, Paul Di’Anno had a long and eventful recording profession with Battlezone and eliminateers as effectively as quite a few solo releases and visitor appearances.
“Despite being plagued by severe health issues in recent years that confined him to performing in a wheelchair, Paul continued to entertain his fans around the globe, racking up well over 100 shows since 2023.”
