The heartbroken mom of a 4 12 months outdated woman who tragically died from an unexplained sickness has voiced her anguish as inquest delays imply she must endure a four-and-a-half 12 months wait for solutions.
Lauren Marsh, 33, has endured an agonizing wait following investigations and examinations into the death of her little woman Bonnie. Bonnie, characterised as ‘cheeky’, turned in poor health and died in December 2021 after two separate hospital visits due to vomiting and fainting.
The younger woman, who had just begun faculty, collapsed on her third go to and couldn’t be saved at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital (N&N). The tragic news comes as a pregnant lady rushed to hospital with abdomen pain – then medical doctors make alarming discover.
The official inquest into Bonnie’s death was initially deliberate for July 2025 – but it was delayed until October due to witness unavailability. However, mourning dad and mom Lauren and Liam, also 33, now confront an extra six-month wait for solutions into their little woman’s puzzling death following another postponement.
A devastated Lauren said: “I’m so mentally broken. We’re stuck in a horrible limbo. This is a never ending nightmare. She’s my daughter but it feels like she’s been the NHS’s property since she died. I just feel like someone needs to be held accountable now and things need to change. We were finally at the point of getting answers and it’s been taken away from us.”
The inquest into Bonnie’s death was initially scheduled for July 2025, but due to witness unavailability, it was postponed. The new date was set for October this 12 months, but Lauren was appalled to uncover this week that they now face an extra six-month delay until April 2026.

Lauren alleges that the rationale given was a ‘trip’ booked by employees who had labored at the hospital when Bonnie died and are witnesses at the inquest. Bonnie’s grieving dad and mom have been informed she might need a genetic condition that may have contributed to her death – and her body was frozen without their consent.
On December 14, Bonnie attended faculty as common, but when Lauren picked her up, she seen Bonnie’s eyes have been barely swollen and she appeared to have a cold. Lauren determined to keep Bonnie home from faculty the next day, and on December 16, the younger woman fainted in the toilet after vomiting.
Her involved dad and mom called an ambulance, and paramedics told them her vitals have been regular and she did not need to go to the hospital. However, Lauren, from Attleborough, Norfolk, insisted Bonnie be taken as she was still vomiting and torpid despite beforehand being match and healthy.
The next day, Bonnie was once again taken to the N&N Hospital by her father Liam as she continued to vomit. She was discharged and on December 18, Lauren called the Children’s Assessment Unit as Bonnie’s condition had not improved.

Lauren was suggested to keep Bonnie at home, but she knew one thing was improper as her daughter was unresponsive. She recalled: “I took her in anyway – she was freezing cold, floppy and dying in my arms.
“I used to be wandering around the hospital making an attempt to discover somebody to help her and it was a cleaner who noticed me and lead me to the Assessment Unit. They had no concept we have been coming because they’d said not to, but they took her to a mattress and said she was very poorly.
“They brought in a cardiac arrest trolley and when I asked what it was for, they said it was ‘just in case’. All of Bonnie’s veins had collapsed and they were asking me to put a millilitre of water in her mouth every ten minutes. The doctors came in and gave me the syringe to put the water in my dying daughter’s mouth.”

Bonnie’s condition out of the blue worsened and she went into cardiac arrest as Lauren was led to a separate room. She remembered: “I just sat there praying. The doctor came back in about half an hour later to say they’d restarted her heart but she was going to be transferred to Addenbrookes [Hospital in Cambridge] by helicopter.
“As she was talking, I may see other medical doctors working back into Bonnie’s room. They said it was time to say goodbye but when I went into the room, Bonnie had already died.”
Lauren revealed the family received zero support immediately after Bonnie’s death, including no offer to help clean her daughter’s body and no chaplain visit. Police weren’t even notified of the sudden death and phoned Lauren early the following morning.

Bonnie’s family were initially told her cause of death was dehydration from norovirus, but a post-mortem revealed she had Covid and the flu. During their first Christmas without their daughter, they received a call from N&N saying Bonnie had a genetic condition which may have contributed to her death.
The interim death certificate for Bonnie lists her cause of death as an “inborn error of metabolism” – also known as inherited metabolic disorders or hereditary metabolic disorders. However, Lauren said tests conducted by Addenbrookes, Great Ormond Street, as well as a clinic in Germany – all came back negative.
The family were also subjected to the devastating news before Bonnie’s funeral that her body had been frozen to preserve samples.

Lauren said: “I’d gone to the funeral director and they have been told when they collected her she was frozen. If they had to freeze her to protect samples for testing, I perceive.
“But no one told me they were going to freeze her. I was heartbroken – I hadn’t signed anything to give my consent. I had to wait four or five days to see her in the funeral home for her to thaw and she didn’t look like my Bonnie anymore.”
In addition to her dad and mom, Bonnie is survived by her loving 12 12 months outdated brother Teddy and their cherished canine Coco. Bonnie’s funeral procession was a sea of pink as dozens of mourners lined the streets to pay their respects.
Adding to the household’s sorrow, they have been notified that a key witness was unavailable just three days before the long-anticipated inquest was set to begin.
The inquest has been delayed until October 2025 and now faces another six-month postponement. The new dates for the formal inquest into Bonnie’s death are now slated for April 13 through April 15, 2026.
Lauren revealed that she discovered about the delay from a member of the family, as she had not been contacted immediately. The Norfolk Coroner’s Office declined to remark on particular person instances.
