Tennessee girls’s basketball participant Ruby Whitehorn pleaded guilty to two misdemeanors in exchange for judicial diversion after a home incident last month.
Whitehorn was initially going through felony costs of aggravated housebreaking and home assault, but those had been dismissed by a decide Friday.
She pleaded guilty to misdemeanor costs of aggravated trespassing and vandalism.
“As a result of a lot of hard work and investigation, we were able to enter into a favorable plea agreement,” Whitehorn’s attorney, Gregory Isaacs, said. “Ms. Whitehorn is an excellent student-athlete and intends to focus her attention on athletics and academics at the University of Tennessee.”

According to court data obtained by the Knoxville News Sentinel, the sufferer claimed that she noticed Whitehorn in a car parking zone exterior her residence and went exterior after listening to glass break.
The sufferer then allegedly received into a bodily altercation when her canine received free and she went to retrieve it.
She said she subsequently ran into her residence with what she thought was her cellphone but later realized was Whitehorn’s cellphone.

The sufferer alleged that Whitehorn kicked in the entrance door of her residence and chased her upstairs.
After she locked herself in her bed room, the sufferer alleges that Whitehorn kicked in that door as effectively, smashed a glass mirror, retrieved her cellphone and left.
Whitehorn claimed the sufferer attacked her first in the car parking zone while she was making an attempt to go away and that she was only making an attempt to defend herself and get her cellphone back.

Isaacs said eyewitness accounts contradicted the sufferer’s accusations.
Whitehorn was suspended indefinitely following the arrest, and Tennessee has not yet announced if that has been lifted.
If she attends anger management lessons and doesn’t commit another crime, her file may be expunged after a yr, Isaacs said.
Going into her senior season, Whitehorn averaged 11.6 factors per sport last yr, her second season with the Volunteers after spending the first two years of her collegiate profession at Clemson.
