The Daily Show mocks humilating Pete Hegseth on | TV Shows

The Daily Show has taken a dig at Pete Hegseth over his choice to implement new press restrictions at the Pentagon.

The U.S. Secretary of War, 45, has upset many journalists across the nation by rolling out a new coverage that extraordinarily limits the media’s access to his division’s headquarters building. He is also trying to control the knowledge leaving the building.

All major news organizations have refused to cooperate and signal the coverage, stating it “threatens core journalistic protections.” However, The Daily Show has given in, but not without poking enjoyable at Hegseth first.

Comedy Central’s speak show took to X with a assertion addressing the new Pentagon press restrictions, saying, “After serious consideration, The Daily Show has agreed to the Pentagon’s new demands regarding press access.

After first making it seem like the series was being cooperative, it continued, “We were going to refuse, but everyone else rejected it so hard that it honestly made us feel kinda bad for Pete Hegseth.

“You know what’s weird? It’s almost like the revelations about Hegseth’s drinking have helped him because now it feels like if he can just steamroll the senators on this one issue, he wins. Like the whole completely unqualified part about his résumé is totally forgotten,” he joked.

“But don’t forget, if this guy quits drinking to become Secretary of Defense his only qualification is that he quit drinking to become Secretary of Defense,” the host added.

Hegseth has never responded immediately to any of The Daily Show’s claims.
