Caitlin Clark is set to swap the hardwood for the fairways as she prepares for what guarantees to be an action-packed offseason.

The Indiana Fever sensation revealed on Thursday that she’ll be teeing it up at The Annika pushed by Gainbridge pro-am match for the second consecutive 12 months.

Just last November, the star guard skilled her nightmare situation when an errant drive discovered an unsuspecting spectator at Pelican Golf Club – though the incident resulted in a touching exchange between Clark and the fan.

Speaking about her alternative to return to the pro-am – scheduled for November 12 – Clark launched an official statement saying: “I had an amazing time at the Annika last November and participating in the pro-am alongside Nelly Korda and Annika Sorenstam, two of the best in the game.

“I’m honored to be an ambassador for a company in Gainbridge that is so dedicated to elevating ladies’s sports activities. I am unable to wait to return to Tampa in November to play in the pro-am with the best ladies golfers in the world.”

During a panel discussion at an LPGA Women’s Leadership Summit one day before last year’s competition, Clark revealed her greatest concern about taking to the course.

Asked about her personal best score, Clark responded: “Oh, God. I can get into the mid-80s if I’m fortunate. But often, I’m just praying to break 100. I just don’t need to hit anybody with a golf ball. That’s my primary precedence.”

Clark quickly broke her one rule. While teeing off from the 9th hole, she misfired her shot into the crowd, hitting fan Tracy Culbert on the shoulder. Culbert took to social media to humorously comment on the incident and show off the large bruise left by Clark’s ball. “I did not anticipate to give Caitlin Clark an help,” she quipped in a TikTok video.

“Her aim was not to hit a fan – whoopsie! The quick-witted Clark remarked, ‘Thanks for the great kick, whoever it hit.’ And signed the ball, leaving me with a distinctive story and a souvenir.”

Looking forward to this year’s Pro-Am, Clark expressed her intention not to repeat the same mistake. In an Instagram story announcing her participation in the event, she wrote: “Will strive not to hit anybody” along with a prayer emoji.

Although Clark is anticipated to keep busy during the WNBA offseason, she notably declined a profitable offer to play in another league.

Despite a $1 million contract offer to play in the inaugural season of Unrivaled – a three-on-three league co-founded by Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier in the summer time of 2023 – Clark will not be anticipated to take part in the league’s second season.
