Paper Trail Behind Suspect in D.C. NG Terrorist

We’re studying more about the suspect in the terrorist assault that happened earlier in Washington, D.C., that despatched two members of the West Virginia National Guard to the hospital, where they’re listed as being in essential condition.

The assault, which investigators are describing as a focused ambush, reportedly happened just blocks from the White House, around 2:15 pm Eastern time.

As we beforehand reported, D.C. Metro Police Department Executive Assistant Chief Jeff Carroll told reporters during a D.C. presser that “At approximately 2:15 this afternoon, members of the National Guard were on high visibility patrols in the area of 17th and I Street NW when a suspect came around the corner, raised his arm with the firearm, and discharged at the National Guard members.”

As for the suspect, he is said to be an Afghan national by the identify of Rahmanullah Lakanwal, who got here right here in September 2021 in the aftermath of the disastrous, lethal Afghanistan withdrawal, with a paper path that factors straight to Joe Biden. 

Lakanwal allegedly yelled, “Allahu akbar!” during the assault:

A National Guardsman, who was not armed with a firearm, used a pocket knife to stab the suspect. Another Guardsman responded to the gunfire and shot the suspect a number of instances.

BREAKING: Per a number of federal law enforcement sources, the suspect in custody for the capturing of two National Guard troopers in DC is an Afghan national who entered the U.S. on 9/8/2021 as half of the Biden admin’s Operation Allies Welcome in the aftermath of the US withdrawal from Afghanistan. 

I’m told his permission to be in the U.S. expired in September of this 12 months, and he’s now in the nation illegally.  

I’ve a identify and DOB – but am ready for additional affirmation.
