The English pop rock group, initially based by Stephen Duffy, Nick Rhodes, and John Taylor in 1978, has achieved worldwide success with their memorable songs.

The movie options a character called Dr. Durand Durand, a deranged scientist.
The band members had been drawn to the futuristic and considerably eccentric high quality of the title, which aligned completely with their modern, new wave image when they launched in 1978.
Removing the “d” from the end of “Durand” created “Duran Duran,” giving it a distinctive, stylized look.

According to Smooth Radio, Nick Rhodes and John Taylor grew to become the resident performers at Birmingham’s Rum Runner nightclub during the late Seventies.
An announcement reveals, “There were many other nearby nightclubs, with the most significant one being Barbarella’s.
“They determined to title the band after a character from the sci-fi movie Barbarella. Milo O’Shea performed the character named Mr Durand Durand.”
