Kristi Noem threatens to send more ICE agents to | Political News


Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem held a press convention in New York City on Thursday, a day after a lady was fatally shot by an ICE agent in Minneapolis, Minnesota, inflicting widespread protests nationwide.

During her press convention, Noem revealed that she was not opposed to sending more ICE agents to Minneapolis if it was needed. “In Minneapolis, yesterday, you said the surge there would continue without instantly saying if we may anticipate a surge in civil deportation enforcement,” a reporter requested.

“Can you reveal what a surge is?” the reporter continued. Noem declined to reply the query after stating that the data may put agents at risk.

A follow-up query was requested by the reporter, which prompted Noem to reply, “We’ve got thousands of officers there and I am not opposed to sending more.” Secretary Noem’s feedback come just a day after 37-year-old Renee Nicole Macklin Good was shot in the pinnacle by an ICE agent working as half of the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown.

The taking pictures occurred in a residential neighborhood south of downtown Minneapolis, an space DHS had flooded it with more than 2,000 officers. DHS justified the taking pictures, with Noem calling the lady’s habits an “act of domestic terrorism.”

However, Minnesota officers refuted DHS’s story. Wednesday’s taking pictures has prompted growing protests across the nation.

In New York City, protesters gathered at Foley Square early Wednesday headed to One World Trade, where Noem held her press convention.

What occurred in Minneapolis?

Videos from the scene show the lady apparently shifting away from ICE officers as they approached the car, which was blocking the street, and tried to open her door. As the motive force moved ahead and away from the officers, another ICE officer fired his gun as the car appeared to drive in the direction of him. After the taking pictures, the car speeds into two vehicles parked on a curb before crashing to a stop.

The Department of Homeland Security, as effectively as President Donald Trump, claimed the officer shot the lady in self-defense. Trump referred to the deceased lady as “a professional agitator,” including that “it is hard to believe he is alive,” referring to the ICE officer who was allegedly injured.

That is bull—-,” Minneapolis mayor Jacob Frey said during a press convention. Video of the horrific incident exhibits bystanders yelling at agents after the taking pictures.

Photos from the scene confirmed bloodstains on the motive force’s seat of the vehicle, including an airbag soaked in blood.

The lady was transported to the Hennepin County Medical Center, where she was pronounced useless, said Brian O’Hara, chief of the Minneapolis police.
