Zach Bryan is letting his music do the speaking when it comes to his past relationship with Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia.
The nation singer launched his sixth studio LP on Friday, January 9, with followers speculating whether or not one of the tracks, “Skin,” is about his ex-girlfriend Brianna. The two broke up in October 2024, making headlines after Brianna alleged Bryan making an attempt to silence her with a $12 million NDA.
The scenario escalated with public accusations from Brianna on podcasts and delicate responses from Bryan, involving alleged incidents of emotional abuse, infidelity, and non-disclosure agreements. Brianna’s podcast co-hosts, Dave Portnoy and Josh Richards, even launched a diss monitor titled “Smallest Man” about the nation singer.
Zach’s new tune now has many questioning if the tune is about his ex. “Skin” talks about Bryan “never touching” somebody’s pores and skin again and “taking a blade to” his own tattoo to “drain the blood between me and you.”

The tune was posted on his YouTube web page, with a fan commenting, “This is def about chicken fry [grinning face with sweat face emoji].” Another particular person commented, “Not one for drama but is this about b. Chicken [face with peeking eye and loudly crying face emoji].”
He also seemingly referenced the previous couple’s 2023 meet-cute, which passed off after one of Bryan’s concert events in Queens, in “Plastic tobacco.”
Zach has yet to verify or deny the accusation, but Brianna did throw a delicate jab at the singer with the help of Taylor Swift. The podcast host reposted Taylor’s tune “Actually Romantic” from Spotify, taking part in the lyrics: “It’s truly candy all the time you’ve spent on me. It’s truthfully wild.”
