A TV star has admitted he is addicted to eating live bugs and said he loves “how it just tickles my throat.”
Carlos is starring in the new TLC actuality show My Strange Addiction, where he revealed he cannot help but eat critters every day. In a new clip from this system, which was shared on Instagram, Carlos opened up a brown paper bag containing one of his beloved snacks.
“Let’s see what’s in this goody bag. Okay, so I got mealworms,” the TLC star said as he peeked inside. Carlos went on to describe mealworms as one of his “most favorite insects.”
He then described what the mealworms tasted like, saying, “My favorite thing about them is the flavor. It’s a lot like buttered popcorn.”
Carlos added, “Yeah, they’re just wonderful. I mean, they look like noodles. They don’t really put up as much of a fight as some other bugs. You know, some other bugs do bite and it’s part of the fun, but it’s not always what I’m looking for.”

He then proceeded to put a handful of mealworms into his mouth. “Not gonna lie, I do get a bit of a kick out of that swirling sensation in my mouth,” he later told the cameras.
Carlos added, “I love how it just tickles my throat. There’s an earthiness, with some notes of like buttery, velvety, with some kinds of French cheeses.”
While Carlos loves to snack on his bugs, the TV star admitted it is not for everybody, telling the cameras, “It’s certainly an acquired taste.”
Carlos was then filmed eating more bugs, with one making an attempt to escape out of his mouth before he sucked it back in.

“This is what makes it worth it, when it like squiggles around your mouth,” Carlos said after swallowing his mealworms. “Very rewarding. You don’t get that from any other kind of food, I guarantee.”
A producer requested Carlos, “You eat other food too, right?”
He replied, “I mean yes, of course, I eat other foods, but I mean, I just prefer eating bugs.”

Viewers flocked to the feedback to share their shock at Carlos’ habit. “How does one not only start eating live bugs but enjoy it lol,” one individual questioned.
Another admitted, “Ima be [sick emoji],” as another person shared a gif of actress Anna Kendrick saying, “We don’t need to do that.”
“Them biting back is part of the fun?! I beg your biggest pardon,” a fourth shocked viewer wrote. Another individual questioned, “Are you a lizard?”
A sixth disgusted TLC fan merely commented, “That’s nasty.”
