Setting up the gag, Jimmy said: “Today Trump met with Venezuela opposition leader Maria Karina Muchado who has said that she’s going to give Trump her Nobel peace prize. We actually got an audio from their meeting…”

What adopted was a childlike back-and-forth that portrayed Trump as obsessed with getting his fingers on the prize, repeatedly interrupting Machado as she tried to converse. In the sketch, Trump was heard demanding: “Alright Machado gimme the prize.” Machado tried to reply: “First I’d like to discuss the ramifications of—” But Trump cut her off immediately, snapping: “Give it to me.” As she endured — “But first, we should—” Trump doubled down with: “Gimme gimme.”

The exchange descended into chaos as Machado repeatedly tried to converse, saying: “Well, sir” and “but,” only for Trump to bark back: “Mine,” “Me wanty,” and “Prizey in my handy.”

The parody escalated additional as Trump declared: “Give it away give it away give it away now…”

Machado again tried to intervene, saying: “If we could just—” before Trump interrupted with: “You…you got what I neeeeed — the nobel prize.”

As Machado tried one last time: “First I’m hoping—” Trump steamrollered her with: “Gimme gimme gimme a prize from your pocket.”

Eventually, Machado relented in the sketch, saying: “Okay fine here you go,” prompting Trump to cheer: “Yay.”

Trump did in fact settle for a Nobel Peace Prize medal from Machado during a closed-door assembly at the White House on January 15.

Afterwards, Trump boasted on social media, writing: “Maria presented me with her Nobel Peace Prize for the work I have done,” while praising her as a “wonderful woman who has been through so much.”

A White House official later confirmed Trump had accepted the medal, describing it as a “gesture of mutual respect”.

Machado supplied a more symbolic rationalization for the gesture. She said: “I told him 200 years ago, General Lafayette gave Simon Bolivar a medal with George Washington’s face on it.

“And 200 years in history, the people of Bolivar are giving back to the heir of Washington a medal… in this case a medal of a Nobel Peace Prize… a recognition for his unique commitment with our freedom.”

Machado was awarded the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize for “promoting democratic rights for the people of Venezuela” and for her position in efforts to transfer the nation from dictatorship to democracy.

She has beforehand said she meant to dedicate the prize to Trump following the US-led seize of Venezuelan chief Nicolás Maduro earlier this month.

Earlier this week, she told Fox News host Sean Hannity: “What he has done is historic… The Venezuelan people… certainly want to, to give it to him and share it with him.”

However, the Norwegian Nobel Institute was fast to distance itself from the spectacle, issuing a blunt clarification that the prize “can neither be revoked, shared, nor transferred to others.”
