Phil Mickelson takes aim at Gavin Newsom over | Golf News

Phil Mickelson has once again taken to social media to share his views, this time on Gavin Newsom’s gasoline costs in California.

“On the left is a gas station in CA, selling gas for $5.80/g. On the right is a gas station 10 miles away in AZ, selling the same gas at $2.80/g,” the post read. “Thanks to Democrat policies, Californians are being legally ripped off on gas. They’re consistently the highest in the country.”

Mickelson responded to the tweet, referring to it as the “Gavin effect” and including three laughing emojis. The LIV Golf star often shares his political views on social media, not too long ago advocating for the incarceration of a number of political figures.

Mila Joy, a politically conservative X person, posted a checklist of people she believes needs to be arrested, asking if anybody else needs to be added.

She posted, “Current top 10 list of who Kash Patel needs to arrest: 1. George Soros 2. Tim Walz 3. Barack Obama 4. Joe Biden 5. Tim Walz 6. Gavin Newsom 7. Ilhan Omar 8. Adam Schiff 9. Hillary Clinton 10. Anthony Fauci. Who did I miss?”

Mickelson, displaying zero regret, responded, “There’s plenty more but this is a great start!” – though he provided no clarification for why any of those people ought to face arrest.

Mickelson’s social media feed is dominated by political commentary and golf-related posts, as the HyFlyers GC captain reportedly holds LIV Golf’s second-largest contract price $200 million.

In a clip shared on X, Stephen A. Smith declared: “What you are saying is, ‘Nobody needs to make more than a certain amount of money.’ Who the hell are you to say that? This is America… That’s not gonna fly.

“Ladies and gents, I’m telling you proper now, the democrats, AOC and (Zorhan) Mamdani and people like Bernie Sanders… if of us like that take over the democratic celebration… one of two issues occurring. The democratic celebration is toast… or America is.”

Mickelson weighed in, stating: “Hard to argue.”
