Carol Vorderman has taken a brutal swipe at Nigel Farage , as she shared a scathing post aimed at the Reform UK chief. The broadcaster and political commentator reposted a tweet from Lib Dem chief Ed Davey on January 17, accusing Farage of ducking interviews after Donald Trump reportedly threatened sanctions.

Alongside a {photograph} of Farage standing beside Trump in the Oval Office, Davey wrote that it was “a real shame” Farage was “too unwell” to seem on morning interviews after Trump’s remarks, including that Farage had campaigned to get Trump elected and had spent the past yr “enjoying all the chaos he has caused”.

Asked if he believes Donald Trump is “bluffing” in his threats of new tariffs, Farage said: “Whether Trump is bluffing or not is always difficult to tell, but to use economic threats against the country that’s been considered to be your closest ally for over 100 years is not the kind of thing we would expect.

“It’s incorrect, it is dangerous, it will be very, very hurtful to us. Now, I feel we’re in a place to negotiate.”

Vorderman, meanwhile, has long been a scathing critic of Farage’s political alliances, and often shares her political agenda on social media, which has earned her some criticism over the years.

The former Countdown host has not posted to her X page since May 2025, when she shared yet another searing post on Farage, which questioned: “How come every Right-Wing resolution to poverty, starvation, health and employment includes giving wealthy people more money?”

Vorderman added her own commentary to the post, taking a sharp jab at Farage by writing: “So true…. How’s NINE JOBS NIGEL doing?”. However, the response was not as she might have anticipated, with numerous social media users criticising her stance.

One user advised Carol to “grow up”. They said: “Grow up, Carol. How does Reform UK’s flagship coverage of raising the place to begin for Income Tax to £20,000 (taking 6 million of the bottom paid out of tax) give more money to wealthy people? That is what you call a genuinely ‘progressive’ coverage.”

Another user defended Farage’s work ethic, stating: “Blimey Carol, god forbid a man works laborious for a dwelling. This post epitomises all the pieces incorrect in today’s society, working laborious is seen as a dangerous factor.”
