Judge Refuses Charges Against Don Lemon, While

As news broke on Thursday that the FBI was making arrests in Minnesota in connection with the invasion of Cities Church in St. Paul, Minnesota, this past Sunday, studies started surfacing that a Justice of the Peace decide had refused to log out on fees against “the biggest name there” that morning, former GWN host Don Lemon. 

A Justice of the Peace decide rejected federal prosecutors’ bid to charge journalist Don Lemon associated to the church protest, a individual acquainted with the matter said Thursday.

The individual spoke on the condition of anonymity because they weren’t licensed to publicly talk about the continued investigation.

Lemon was among those on who entered the church. Lemon has said he isn’t affiliated with the protest organizers and was there chronicling as a journalist.

PinkState has independently confirmed that the decide declined to log out on fees against Lemon, who maintains he was at the protest — which concerned members of the “Racial Justice Network,” but appeared to be targeted on anti-ICE advocacy — committing an “act of journalism.”

The motive(s) for the decide’s refusal aren’t clear at the second.

What we do not know yet — and is a signficant query — is whether or not the Magistrate who refused to signal the grievance for Don Lemon did so because he wasn’t satisfied the information set forth offered PC for the legal charge alleged, or he wasn’t satisfied that the charge itself is legally relevant to the conduct alleged in the affidavit.  

Normally we’d not see a rejected legal grievance because it is not posted on the Court’s docket and Lemon just isn’t in any other case charged so DOJ’s coverage is to not remark about him.  

The query now is — if he was only going to be charged with a FACT Act misdemeanor, will DOJ now charge him via Information and merely bypass the need for a Complaint.  

They may do that today.

As Ship notes in his tweet, however, that’s not the end of the road for potential fees against Lemon. The Department of Justice (DOJ) could choose to charge him via Information. 

At minimal, it seems that Lemon and his cohorts are swiftly being disabused of the notion that storming a church is a strong concept — unless hiring a legal protection lawyer is high on your record of priorities.
