Former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly has announced he takes a break from his podcast and media appearances as he offers with an undisclosed sickness.

The journalist and writer, who hosted The O’Reilly Factor for more than 20 years until he was fired in 2017 over inappropriate harassment allegations, wrote in a weblog he’s “dealing with a malady” and would share an update with followers soon.

He did not reveal additional particulars of his sickness. “Hey No Spin Nation. Sorry I am dealing with a malady. We have great doctors so we’ll fight the good fight,” O’Reilly wrote.

“Doesn’t affect my fingers so will update you on me, news cycle, and anything major. Hopefully, back in the saddle shortly.”

O’Reilly, who hosts his own No Spin News weeknigths at 8pm ET on TheFirstTV.com and DirecTV, is also a frequent visitor on NewsNation.

On Tuesday, NewsNation host Chris Cuomo said the commentator wouldn’t make his scheduled look on the show.

“He is sick,” Cuomo told viewers, but he reassured them, “He’ll be back soon.”

After his initial announcement, O’Reilly shared a additional update on Thursday, January 22, saying, “No Spin Nation alert. I’m not giving in to this malady and am following news events as usual.”

Then on January 23, he said is condition is stomach-related, sharing in an update on his weblog, “No Spin Nation! Your tour guide is okay and recovering from some stomach stuff.

“We are open on the web site and very pleased the Greenland invasion will not be taking place, but Sri Lanka better watch it.”

He added, “Amazing good needs have arrived right here in New York City, and it is onerous to describe my gratitude.

“I am planning a jail break out of the medical facility where there are more than a few Concierge Members. That’s major. If USA Today finds me, I’m toast.”

He said that he’s “working on the first broadcast back because there’s nothing else to do here except watch hysterical local TV news coverage about snow generated by global warming.”

O’Reilly hosted his Fox News show from 1996 to 2017, after The New York Times reported that 5 ladies had been paid a collective $13 million by O’Reilly and Fox News for agreeing not to file lawsuits or communicate publicly about allegations that he harassed them.

The settlement, involving ladies who had either labored with O’Reilly or appeared on his show, happened sporadically between 2002 and 2016. Fox News fired the TV host later that month. 

However, O’Reilly denied the claims and described the allegations as “unfounded.” He said in a assertion at the time, “It is tremendously disheartening that we part ways due to completely unfounded claims.

“But that is the unlucky actuality many of us in the public eye must live with today. I’ll always look back on my time at Fox with great pleasure in the unprecedented success we achieved and with my deepest gratitude to all my devoted viewers.

“I wish only the best for Fox News Channel.” He has continued to keep his innocence.
