2025 was only a 5 out of 10 for most, according to new research.
A poll of 2,000 Americans inspecting last 12 months requested respondents to rating how the 12 months was for them personally out of 10 and noticed 5.3 was the average vote forged.
In what was, general, a 12 months of “meh” given the general score, a quarter of people (25%) voted 2025 a poor 12 months, with scores of one, two or three out of 10.
A fifth (21%) rated it a superb 12 months personally, marking it an eight, 9 or 10.
Conducted by Talker Research, Gen X was the technology voting the bottom for the 12 months (5.1 on average), while millennials rated it barely increased at 5.3.

And while all generations voted a rating of 5 general, it was Gen Z and boomers seeing the 12 months most positively, both rating it a 5.4/10 on average.
The outcomes affirm that 2025 was worse than 2024, which was ranked 6.1 out of 10 general in Talker Research’s past snapshot.
And while the 12 months might not have been one for the books general for most, the bulk of Americans did really feel they grew as a particular person in 2025.

In fact, seven in 10 (69%) felt they developed in the last 12 months in some method, with enhancements to personal life (59%) and development in their mental and emotional life (49%) the most common growth classes.
And that personal enhancement continued, with many also counting non secular growth (45%) and mental growth (33%) among their achievements for 2025.

Perhaps naturally, youthful generations have been more assured in reporting their growth, with the sentiment declining with age. Seventy-five p.c of Gen Z said they grew as a particular person in some method in 2025, versus 59 p.c of child boomers.
