Dancing With the Stars fans are going to get another dose of the show with a new spinoff competitors collection designed to discover new professional dancers for the show — but fans are fearing the worst for the current crop of dancers.

The ABC show noticed report scores for its thirty fourth outing in 2025, which ended with Robert Irwin being topped as the champion. Following that success, the show is now set to launch a spin-off collection centered on the professionals.

“I keep seeing people say they would be much more excited if the big GMA announcement was this show and now the con,” another said. “I honestly think one reason the big announcement on GMA wasn’t this show is because maybe the pros aren’t thrilled about it. It’s a show that is looking for people that could possibly replace them. They have said they don’t know if they have a job from season to season. And now adding this into the mix can jeopardize their spot even more.”

Another identified that such sentiments have been felt when the show first launched its troupe, which has helped usher in new professionals throughout the years.

“This is how the OGs felt when troupe was introduced. Chelsie and Anna both said they knew they were getting replaced, so I’m sure the show actually advertising a show to potentially take someone’s spot isn’t comforting lol,” one added.

The new show also comes after there was drama during Season 34 where new professional dancer, Jan Ravnik, was added to the show straight from the Taylor Swift Eras Tour.

However, he confronted criticism, particularly from former professional Maks Chmerkovskiy, who said during a podcast interview that Ravnik had “absolutely no business being a pro.”

There have been also experiences that he was at risk of being cut, as was Rylee Arnold–two of the most latest solid of professionals who didn’t get promoted from the show’s troupe before being named as professional dancers themselves.

While Jan got here from the tour, Rylee was solid after initially competing on Dancing With the Stars Junior, and was notably the sister of Season 25 champ, Lindsay Arnold.

Other newer professionals, like Ezra Sosa and Daniella Karagach had danced in the show’s troupe before their eventual promotions, though her husband, Pasha Pashkov, was solid as a professional instantly.

Britt Stewart, Jenna, Brandon Armstrong, Gleb Savchenko, Alan Bersten, Witney Carson and Emma Slater all served as members of the troupe before being solid as professionals.
