When Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams first crossed paths, it was for a chemistry read for the HBO Max and Crave collection Heated Rivalry, and the pair say they related nearly immediately.

Storrie told Vanity Fair that “Me and Hudson had the chemistry down before we even started acting,” a connection that would grow to be a defining half of both the show’s success and their off-camera bond.

The HBO Max hit itself is a drama about rival skilled hockey gamers who fall in love, and has sparked widespread fan curiosity, not only in the characters, but also in the actors who play them. The pair had been granted a number of once in a lifetime alternatives in the short period of time since the show launched, including being torch bearers at the 2026 Winter Olympics.

That curiosity has often veered into hypothesis about Storrie and Williams’s real-life relationship. But both males have addressed those rumors immediately, characterizing their connection as a strong friendship based on mutual respect and consolation, not romance.

Williams has joked publicly about just how close they’re. In an interview, he described their off-screen dynamic by saying, “Our real-life relationship is a nightmare for HR,” referencing their ease with bodily affection and fixed banter. “We’re both pretty tactile people…We both like physical touch, whether it’s with friends, family, partners,” Storrie explained in the same dialog.

They’ve been candid about how rapidly their friendship grew once they started working together. In a number of interviews, Storrie has called Williams his best pal.

He told W magazine, “Hudson is my best friend, and I literally can’t fathom doing this without him. We were both in similar places in life before this. We quit our jobs within a day of each other. We booked this and flew out the same day. Now it’s turning into two people who are being seen internationally for the first time. This has been the highlight of my life, and meeting Hudson makes that 10 times sweeter.”

Williams has mirrored on what their friendship means to him as they navigate sudden fame together. Speaking to Variety, he said, “I have one of my best friends for life right beside me through it all, which is already a luxury that a lot of actors don’t get.”

Both actors have been mindful of preserving their particular person careers distinct, even as they help one another. In an interview with Wonderland magazine, Williams said they “actively avoid” attending the same public occasions to keep their own identities as artists. He explained, “We want to be different artists. We don’t want to be the Olsen twins. We want to be Connor and Hudson, with different filmographies and different deals. As much as we love each other, our friendship doesn’t need to be public.”

The pair even received matching tattoos as a lighthearted acknowledgment of their shared expertise with Heated Rivalry. Storrie described the ink, which reads “sex sells,” as a “tongue-in-cheek, kind of winky view of being a part of something like this.”

While social media buzz and fan “shipping” continue, with many followers hoping the actors will date in real life, both Storrie and Williams have emphasised the closeness of their brotherhood.
