Former America’s Next Top Model decide Nigel Barker has shared an amusing backstage story from his tenure on the hit actuality sequence.

Production often befell in tropical places, he said, but air-con had to stay off to stop audio interference from the buzzing noise.

“The lights were also very hot, so if you ever saw us on the judging set, underneath our waist we would just be wearing underwear or only shorts and flip flops. Then when we got up to stand, we had to put on our pants and shoes,” he revealed. “So the whole time we were judging, we’re looking very businesslike, but we’re actually wearing flip flops and underpants or underwear below the desk.”

He laughed, noting it was “very business at the top and party at the bottom.”

America’s Next Top Model felt like a “family affair” for Barker

Looking back on his ANTM days, Barker shared with The Mirror US that the manufacturing had a “family affair” ambiance, noting he was the only forged member who constantly had his partner or a relative current during filming.

“My wife was actually my makeup artist, which a lot of people didn’t realize. So she came on America’s Next Top Model and traveled all over the world with me,” he revealed. Barker’s partner, Cristen Chin Barker, works as both a model and businesswoman.

He added that once his youngsters arrived, they grew to become common fixtures on set, successful over the show’s celeb judges.

“My son said his first words in front of Twiggy, not in front of me,” he remembered. “Miss J and Tyra, as well, spent so much time with my kids Jack and Jasmine when they were babies.”
