Michael McIntyre’s Big Show took an emotional flip on Saturday evening, decreasing a celebrated footballer to tears.
The much-loved household programme returned on February 21 with a string of well-known faces, including Peter Crouch and Abbey Clancy, who tackled the Remember Me phase. The couple had been challenged with recognising figures from their past whom they hadn’t seen in years.
Everyone from their wedding ceremony singer to Peter’s childhood crush made an look. But it was the previous England striker’s first skilled coach, Barry Quinn, who left him fully speechless.
On listening to Barry’s voice, Peter immediately grew to become emotional, with Abbey shortly noticing, mentioning, “He’s crying.”
Whilst the sporting star did not dissolve into floods of tears, the sudden shock left him visibly moved, reviews the Mirror.
Speaking of his deep connection with the coach, he said, “I’ll never forget him. When I was a kid, I genuinely believed that my technique came from the grounding I had with Barry Quinn.”
The pair first crossed paths when Peter was just starting to discover his ft in soccer at around 10 years previous.
The former England ahead went on to add: “I just think at that time,at that age, it’s such a time for you to develop. I was so lucky to have a coach like Barry, who I felt got me to the next level, really. And I know that grounding was what shaped the player I became.”

Barry also spoke candidly about their relationship, lauding the striker: “He had a fantastic attitude.
“He had natural expertise but always wished to progress, always wished to get better. Worked tougher than everyone else and had great household help. So he was an absolute coach’s dream.”
The 45-year-old forward represented clubs including Liverpool, Stoke City, Tottenham Hotspur, and Burnley during his distinguished career.
