Tom Llamas makes statement as he gives Nancy | TV Shows

NBC Nightly News’ Tom Llamas made a large gesture of assist toward Savannah Guthrie while giving an update on her 84-year-old mom’s disappearance.

After being accused of being unsupportive toward Savannah by not sporting a small yellow ribbon, which many of her fellow NBC anchors have continued to put on into the twenty fifth day of looking for Nancy, the 46-year-old was seen sporting one.

On Wednesday, February 25, Llamas wore the ribbon as he gave viewers a major update on Nancy’s case, revealing there had been “a flurry of law enforcement activity” at her home and that the Pima County Sheriff’s Department and the FBI brokers concerned in the case had been working to return the home to Savannah and her household. It comes after an ex-FBI agent revealed the hidden codeword that Savannah used in her message to the abductors.

According to a Daily Mail report, Savannah and her siblings have remained in Arizona, desperately hoping for evidence in their mom’s disappearance.

However, back in New York, some of the Today Show anchors’ colleagues have allegedly been unsupportive of the Guthrie household, including Llamas.

The report famous that many NBC anchors have been sporting yellow ribbons to show assist for Savannah and her household amid their search for Nancy, including Today’s Craig Melvin, Hoda Kotb, Al Roker, Carson Daly, and Jenna Bush Hager.

In Tucson, yellow has come to symbolize hope as the law enforcement concerned in the case continued to exhaust every avenue in their investigation. Many of Nancy’s neighbors and supporters have positioned yellow flowers outdoors of her home.

Llamas appeared to have opted out of sporting the ribbon until the February 25 episode of his nightly news show.

Some insiders close to the community’s newsroom believed the selection not to put on the ribbon despatched a message. “In a moment like this, symbolism is everything,” they said. “If you’re not visibly with the team, people start asking why.”

A producer added, “No one is accusing anyone of lacking compassion. But in a high-profile newsroom built on image and unity, even small gestures can carry weight.”

The particular person added that the yellow ribbons had been meant to carry the community together during their colleague’s tough time. Instead, it probably triggered more drama behind the scenes.

Some defenders of Llamas even noticed the ribbon as performative unity, so they are saying his selection not to put on it wasn’t a statement at all.

In his latest update on Nancy’s disappearance, Llamas told viewers that a man named Dominic Evans, a 48-year-old elementary school teacher who also happens to play drums in a band with one of Nancy’s sons-in-law, Tommaso Cioni, has been living a nightmare after online sleuths accused him of being Nancy’s kidnapper.

Evans became the internet sleuths’ prime suspect when they learned of his personal connection to Nancy and that he’d been arrested in 1999 for drunkenly stealing a calculator and watch while out at a bar.

Then, many sleuths claimed the release of the Nest footage of a masked intruder at Nancy’s front door confirmed their suspicions. They explained that the masked man seen in the footage had eyes similar to Evans’s.

According to The New York Times, after the accusations surfaced online, the amateur crime-solvers stormed the teacher’s suburban Tucson street.

Evans and his wife, Andrea, hid in their bedroom with the lights off that night, too scared to pick up their six-year-old son from his grandmother’s house, fearing the mob of people would follow them.

Days later, several journalists and livestreamers had reported that a SWAT vehicle had left the sheriff’s department headquarters and swarmed Evans’ home in case he was named a suspect.

“I really feel like somebody’s taken my title,” Evans said. For what reason? “I do not know — financial, clickbait, to be related, leisure — but there are harmless people that get harm.”

In her latest emotional video, Savannah announced a new $1 million reward for any information that leads to Nancy’s return or recovery.
