The disaster engulfing the Royal Family has taken an explosive new flip, with claims the monarchy might only survive if King Charles abdicated the throne. The extraordinary suggestion was aired live on TalkTV as commentator Jeremy Kyle and royal historian Andrew Lownie tore into the fallout from the arrest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, warning the scandal may show deadly for the King’s reign. Speaking bluntly, Jeremy laid out a situation few have dared to voice publicly, saying: “I genuinely think it’s so bad that the King might have to stand aside and I genuinely have a way out for him, which is to say that his medical situation is the reason he’s doing that.

“We will all know it’s for the good of the royal family and they start with a clean slate with William and Kate.” The feedback adopted mounting strain on the palace after Andrew was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public workplace, reigniting scrutiny over his past position as a UK commerce envoy and his hyperlinks to controversial figures.

Andrew Lownie, who has spent years investigating the royals and wrote an unofficial biography of the disgraced former prince, didn’t draw back from backing the concept of abdication.

It isn’t the first time Lownie has sounded the alarm. He has beforehand warned that the scandal surrounding Andrew may eclipse even the abdication disaster of 1936.

Speaking to ABC’s 7.30, he said: “This is far more serious than the abdication crisis,” referencing King Edward VIII’s resolution to give up the throne.

Lownie also criticised the palace’s silence, including: “The BBC put a series of questions to Charles … they refuse to answer quite sensible questions about what they knew. This is a real crisis, and they don’t seem to have woken up to the seriousness of it.”

Following Andrew’s arrest, King Charles issued a assertion stressing help for the investigation, stating that “the law must take its course.”

Despite that, Lownie insists the key issue stays transparency. “What people now want is his complete honesty about what he knew, when he knew it and what he did about it,” he said.
