Max Holloway heads into UFC 326 BMF fight with | MMA News
Former featherweight champion Max Holloway places his symbolic ‘BMF’ title on the road in the UFC 326 main event against former light-weight titleholder Charles Oliveira. While the ‘BMF’ strap can be up for grabs, “Blessed” could have the undisputed light-weight championship in the back of his thoughts.
“It feels huge. The BMF title is cool and all, but the undisputed title is on my mind,” Holloway told UFC on Paramount+. “First things first, Charles Oliveira. He’s an animal. He did great things here in the division. He was the champion. And being able to have our paths cross again.”
The UFC 326 headliner is a rematch. Holloway and Oliveira first fought 11 years in the past at UFC Fight Night 74 in a featherweight fight. Holloway defeated the Brazilian early in the opening spherical after Oliveira suffered a neck injury.
“That first one, it is what it is, you know. A lot of people say it don’t count because of his injury, but March 7 here at T-Mobile Arena, we get to figure it out again,” Holloway said. “I’m just glad we get to get it back.”
With Oliveira standing across the cage from him, Holloway believes the followers can count on to see fireworks on Saturday.
“Fireworks, man,” Holloway said when requested what’ll happen. “I keep telling you, man, if you’re trying to get people into mixed martial arts and the sport to watch the UFC … Tune in on March 7.”
“This is a history fight. This is one for the history books,” continued Holloway.
