Stephen Colbert called out President Donald Trump’s multiplying causes for beginning a battle with Iran.

The 61-year-old late-night host in his opening monologue on Monday, March 2, spoke about the current army operation that launched assaults on Iran from the US and Israel. Stephen started with a blistering remark, stating that the operation, dubbed “Operation Epic Fury,” is “an anagram for forget Epstein.” He then went on to attempt to dissect the rising causes Trump has said about attacking Iran and how it retains changing to one thing else each time.

Stephen highlighted that Trump said it was for regime change, to obtain “freedom for the Iranian people,” that Iran would possibly strike first, and then said it was a response to Iran utilizing “games, tricks, and stall tactics” in the negotiations.

“So, what do we have here? Regime change, freedom for the Iranian people, too many games and tricks, Get him before he gets me,” Stephen said.

Colbert explained that this should not come as a shock, noting that “once you start bombing folks, the fighting tends to take on a life of its own.”

Earlier in his monologue, Colbert also famous that Trump never acquired approval to start this battle and that, under the Constitution and the War Powers Act, Congress is the only physique that can declare battle.

The US and Israel launched strikes on Iran on Saturday, February 28. According to the BBC, Iranian officers announced that 153 people, including youngsters, have died in the US and Israel strike that reportedly hit a ladies’ faculty in southern Iran. The strikes also killed Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
