Dancing With the Stars pro Val Chmerkovskiy has shared a new diagnosis with followers following a scare during the show’s ongoing tour that noticed him land in the hospital.
Now, after taking to social media following the unique scare, and performing at the next tour stop in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, he once again took to his platform to share an update, admitting to followers on March 3 that he did obtain a diagnosis during his transient hospitalization.
Taking to Instagram, the pro dancer spoke to followers in a video from rehearsal.
“Appreciate all the love and concern,” he captioned the clip, where he shared more particulars on what had occurred to him.
“So I got BPPV, which isn’t too bad, thank god, there’s no tumors in my brain, god forbid,” he said in the clip. “And thankfully, it’s not related to my neck injury, and so, having ruled those things out, I feel alot better.”
Sharing that he and the show’s PT had labored together and used the Epley Maneuver, he was once again nicely enough to carry out.
“I’m still a little fuzzy here and there, but good enough to perform,” he said. “…We back baby, we back.”
BPPV is short for Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, which, according to the Mayo Clinic, is one of the most common causes of vertigo, which is a sudden feeling of spinning or shifting.
