Trump ally worried president may have triggered | Political News

A Republican ally has anonymously shared their considerations that President Donald Trump has unleased a attainable “doomsday” state of affairs with his sudden launch of conflict in Iran.

“I don’t know that the administration could have possibly thought it through,” one lawmaker said.

This comes as as Trump doubles down on the battle in Iran and reveals no indicators of slowing down- vowing not to make a deal with the Middle Eastern nation unless they agree to “unconditional surrender.”

After lethal strikes on Tehran that obliterated a lot of the regime’s top management, Trump said the conflict with Iran might last “four to five weeks,” including that it “won’t be difficult” for the U.S. and Israeli army to keep up their assault.

“There will be no deal with Iran except UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!” Trump wrote on his Truth Social account on Friday.

The president continued: “After that, and the selection of a GREAT & ACCEPTABLE Leader(s), we, and many of our wonderful and very brave allies and partners, will work tirelessly to bring Iran back from the brink of destruction, making it economically bigger, better, and stronger than ever before. IRAN WILL HAVE A GREAT FUTURE. ‘MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN (MIGA!).’ Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP’

Trump’s post comes after Iran’s president said that there are “mediation efforts” ongoing about the war in the Middle East.

Masoud Pezeshkian says “some countries” had started mediating, without naming them. “Let’s be clear: we are committed to lasting peace in the region yet we have no hesitation in defending our nation’s dignity & sovereignty,” the president wrote on X.

“Mediation should address those who underestimated the Iranian people and ignited this conflict,” he added.

Trump said Thursday he ought to be concerned in selecting Iran’s next supreme chief as the US and Israel continued hammering the nation.

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth warned that American firepower over Tehran was “about to surge dramatically.” The Israeli army said strikes have already destroyed most of Iran’s air defenses and missile launchers.

Trump ruled out Mojtaba Khamenei, a front-runner to substitute his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed in the opening strikes of the conflict. The conflict has escalated each day, affecting an extra 14 nations across the Middle East and past.

The Trump administration is now dealing with mounting discontent from its allies in the Persian Gulf who have complained they weren’t given ample time to put together for the torrent of Iranian drones and missiles bombarding their nations in retaliation for joint strikes launched by the US and Israel.
