Kelly added, “They leaned on me to overshare. It’s not born out of nefarious intent. They want the audience to feel like they know you. And I get that, but you have to be really careful.”
She continued, “I think all of the Today show hosts show their children and their faces on TV. Certainly, Savannah does, Hoda [Kotb], and it’s very dangerous. It’s dangerous.”
Kelly then mentioned how the case has resonated with viewers, particularly concerning issues about the protection of aged relations. In the video, she explained that the disappearance has prompted many to reassess how weak their family members may be.
“The mom is a different story. I mean, I showed my mom, too. Because prior to this, nobody ever thought their mom could be potentially endangered, you know? This is a whole new kind of crime,” she cautioned.
In her bed room video, Nancy said, “Well, I think everybody needs to know how to make a bed. So, when the time came to teach [Savannah and her siblings] how to make a bed, this is what I tried to teach you,” before starting the cleansing demonstration.
Savannah admitted that she sometimes “just leave” her mattress unmade after getting up in the morning. Her mom jokingly remarked, “All three of the kids thought [bed-making] was a really worthless skill.”
