Fox News viewers have been left outraged when Jesse Watters weighed in on the scandal that prompted California Rep. Eric Swalwell to droop his gubernatorial marketing campaign and step down from Congress.
Swalwell has been accused of inappropriate misconduct toward a staffer under his supervision, allegations he has persistently denied. Nevertheless, following news of the accusations and the derailment of his political profession, Fox News wasted no time in focusing on the California congressman.
Just days after Jesse Watters was branded by some Fox News viewers as a “stupid mongrel,” he discovered himself going through recent backlash over his remarks on the Swalwell scandal during the Monday, April 13 episode of The Five.
The episode, that includes Watters, Dana Perino, Emily Compagno, Tom Shillue, and Harold Ford Jr., swiftly zeroed in on Swalwell, who at that level had only suspended his gubernatorial bid.
Yet it was Watters’ own commentary that left many viewers far more disturbed than the scandal itself, stories the Mirror US.

Addressing the allegations, Watters appeared to take specific issue with where the alleged misconduct came about and the fact that the person concerned was a subordinate.
“Don’t just whip it out,” he said. “Allegedly, he was just whipping it out. In a car. In board daylight. In front of the intern. Like that’s not the moment you do it! It has to be done in the moment of maybe some passion.
“Never with an intern!” Perino interrupted.
“Never with an Intern!” Watters echoed with a laugh. However, once the footage went viral, audiences expressed outrage over Watters’ comments.

“LOl when given the chance to completely and deservedly dunk on a democrat for being a creep he goes the route of ‘everybody is aware of you’ve got to be a more discreet creep.’ It’s a selection,” one viewer posted on X (formerly Twitter), while another observed, “No shock that Watters’s only issue is the timing, slightly than Swalwell being gross to an intern.”
“This show is disgusting,” a third viewer declared, while yet another questioned, “Doesn’t he notice that his very remark is inappropriate harassment? Doesn’t Fox have an HR division?”
Many also highlighted that his spouse, Emma DiGiovine, had previously been employed as a producer on both The Five and Watters’ World prior to their marriage–and Watters has previously admitted to deflating her vehicle’s tires as a tactic to offer her transportation.
“Watters flattened the tires of the intern’s car he needed to date,” one individual noted, while another recalled, “Didn’t he slash a co-worker’s tires so she would ask him for a experience home?

“I thought you were supposed to flatten their tires or something so they had to take a ride with you,” a third particular person remarked angrily.
Following the published, Swalwell also made public his determination to step down from Congress.
