Israel and Lebanon reportedly reached a ceasefire settlement after weeks of traded blows and an Israeli bombing marketing campaign that has killed over 2,100 people in the Middle Eastern nation that borders Israel to the north.
U.S. President Donald Trump announced the precise time the 10-day ceasefire will take impact, penning a braggy message on Truth Social and taking credit for the settlement.
“I just had glorious conversations with the Highly Respected President Joseph Aoun, of Lebanon, and Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, of Israel,” Trump wrote. “These two Leaders have agreed that in order to obtain PEACE between their Countries, they will formally start a 10 Day CEASEFIRE at 5 P.M. EST.”
“On Tuesday, the two Countries met for the first time in 34 years here in Washington, D.C., with our Great Secretary of State, Marco Rubio,” he continued. “I have directed Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Rubio, together with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Dan Razin’ Caine, to work with Israel and Lebanon to achieve a Lasting PEACE.”
“It has been my Honor to solve 9 Wars across the World, and this will be my 10th, so let’s, GET IT DONE! President DONALD J. TRUMP,” he added.
A ceasefire settlement between Israel and Lebanon will probably have vital implications for a peace settlement between the U.S. and Iran, with Iran stating during the initial, failed peace talks between the U.S. and Iran in Pakistan that a ceasefire in Lebanon was essential, lest Iran would not agree to any U.S. calls for.
