President Donald Trump has said that next week’s state go to by King Charles and Queen Camilla might “absolutely” help restore relations between London and Washington and be a “positive.”
“Absolutely, the answer is yes,” Trump said in 5 telling phrases when requested if the King and Queen might ease transatlantic tensions.
“I know him well, I’ve known him for years,” he added in dialog with the BBC. “He’s a brave man, and he’s a great man. They would absolutely be a positive.”
King Charles is set to start his go to on Monday, and meet the president at the White House. He is also set to go to New York, Virginia and Bermuda before returning to the UK.
Trump has clashed with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and repeatedly attacked him for his refusal to assist the US during the Iran warfare.
