Two years after its premiere, the Emmy-winning creator, author and star of “Baby Reindeer,” Richard Gadd, is returning to TV with a new provocative restricted sequence.

“Half Man” premieres on HBO tonight, April 23, with new episodes dropping on HBO Max at the same time they air on TV.

Gadd wrote “Half Man” and stars in it alongside BAFTA-winning actor Jamie Bell; the pair play Ruben and Niall, pseudo-stepbrothers whose relationship is risky and poisonous.

Per HBO’s official synopsis of the sequence, which spans 30 years, “Half Man” is a six-part restricted sequence exploring brotherhood, violence, and the extreme fragility of male relationships. After all, when issues collapse… it’s sometimes the closest relationships which break the toughest.”

Channel: HBO

Streaming: HBO Max

In her review of the sequence, Page Six and The Post’s TV reporter Lauren Sarner wrote, “the six-episode limited HBO series is a gnarly watch that’s sometimes hard to stomach, but it’s riveting, provocative and filled with searing performances. It should sweep the Emmys, just like “Baby Reindeer” did.”

Sarner concludes, “Half Man” is darkish, unusual and gutting. It’s also fascinating, propulsive and full of sophisticated characters,” noting that “Baby Reindeer” wasn’t a fluke. Gadd is a star.”
