Authorities revealed that the suspect in the White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooting was a registered guest at the event’s hotel and was discovered in possession of a handgun, shotgun and a number of knives.

Trump confirmed that a Secret Service agent was struck in the chest by the gunman but was protected by his bulletproof vest. No extra accidents have been reported.

“Quite an evening in D.C. Secret Service and Law Enforcement did a fantastic job. They acted quickly and bravely,” Trump wrote Saturday night on Truth Social following the shooting. “
The shooter has been apprehended, and I have recommended that we ‘LET THE SHOW GO ON’ but, will entirely be guided by Law Enforcement. They will make a decision shortly.
“Regardless of that choice, the night shall be a lot different than deliberate, and we’ll just, plain, have to do it again. President DONALD J. TRUMP.”
