Disneylands Napa Rose restaurant under scrutiny…
Talk about a Goofy price tag.
Disneyland’s high quality eating crown jewel, Napa Rose, is under fire from a disgruntled diner who claims the upscale eatery is serving up “mid” food despite charging a king’s ransom.
The visitor took to Reddit a few days in the past to warn fellow Disney diners to “avoid” the Grand Californian Hotel’s flagship restaurant after dropping a staggering $1,200 on a meal for 5 that left them feeling more cheated than a fairy story villain.
“Food was very mid to flavorless,” the disgruntled visitor wrote on the Disneyland Reddit web page. “Nothing tasted disgusting or awful but it was all one note. No flavor explosions in your mouth.”
The diner posted photographs of superbly plated but reportedly bland dishes — including a miso cabbage scallion crepe and sorpresine pasta — blasted the restaurant for failing to live up to its minimal of $188-per-person price level.

The taste wasn’t the only bone that the diner had to choose.
Despite an official gown code posted online, the consumer claimed the eating room’s clientele didn’t match that of a Michelin-aspiring restaurant. “There is a dress code that nobody follows,” the poster vented, noting she confirmed up in a gown and heels only to be seated next to company in “graphic t-shirts, hoodies, jeans.”
“It’s a fancy, expensive restaurant with the whole open kitchen layout. I expected a better meal…They want the full experience to feel luxurious.”
They also slammed the workers for being “not all that experienced in cuisine like high price restaurants should have,” claiming the servers couldn’t suggest a correct wine pairing — a cardinal sin for a restaurant named after California’s wine nation.
However, the web was divided on the review, with followers dashing to defend the dear hotspot, writing glowing reviews of Napa Rose.
“I’ve eaten at a number of Michelin star restaurants, and have eaten at great spots all over the globe – I was very, very, happy with Napa Rose,” one Redditor commented.

Another chimed in with: “The experience, the food, the staff, and the ambience is exceptional based on multiple times dining there.”
“Dress code at any resort is more lax than dress code at a stand alone restaurant,” one consumer pushed back. “That’s the reality of the world.”
“The food was very good,” a latest diner wrote. “Did we eat at the same Napa Rose?”
Still, even followers admitted the associated fee will be exhausting to swallow. Starting at $188 per individual before tax and tip, it’s firmly in special day territory.
“To be fair, I didn’t think the food was terrible, just lacking for the price,” one consumer wrote. The sentiment was widely echoed in the feedback.
Napa Rose leans closely into a fine-dining, California wine nation aesthetic—with seasonal tasting menus, curated wine pairings and white-tablecloth service. But, the upscale positioning and price level also comes with sky-high expectations.
