Asked if the officer was struck by “friendly fire,” which means by accident and probably by a fellow officer, Trump replied, “They say it was not friendly fire. That’s what I heard. I heard that. It was actually reported. Do you read the reports? Why did you ask me that question?”.

The WaPo analysis of the footage confirmed Allen pointing his shotgun in the direction of a Secret Service officer before dashing past the security checkpoint, but discovered “no indication” that Allen fired his weapon.
Blanche pointed to evidence on Monday that investigators discovered a used shell inside the suspect’s shotgun to clarify the costs against the suspect.
Blanche told ABC on Sunday that officers believed the Secret Service officer was struck by the suspected gunman. However, he appeared to stroll back on the argument a day later, saying, “We need to get that proper. We’re still trying at that.”
The WaPo analysis also discovered that the officer whom Allen rushed past at the security checkpoint immediately drew his weapon and fired 4 occasions at the gunman, who was allegedly not struck during the altercation.
