Democrat Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez implied that America has possible already had a gay President, when she was questioned this week about the chance of a Female president occurring before a gay chief.

In a clip posted on social media, the GWN reporter requested Ocasio-Cortez, “What do you suppose we’re going to have first, are we going to have a feminine president or a gay president?”

She responded, smiling, “Well, we do not know if we have already had a gay president, to be trustworthy with you. I believe there are possibilities that possibly we now have, but I do not know.”

Pressed additional on the query, she said, “When it comes to women, I think it’s more about what we’re actually fighting for, right? As opposed to the body that we’re in,” later including, “If we have someone who fights for the right things and speaks to the right people, maybe we can overcome the gender gap and be able to make history.”

The New York consultant clearly loved the spherical of questions as she reposted the clip on her X, writing, “This was fun.”

When giving her ambiguous reply, Ocasio-Cortez could have been referring to former president James Buchanan Jr., who served as the fifteenth U.S. president from 1857 to 1861. Rumors about his inappropriateity began to rattle around as he remained single and lived with Alabama senator William Rufus King for 13 years.

While Buchanan had beforehand been engaged to a lady named Ann Coleman long before he grew to become president, she died before they may ever marry. Buchanan went on to live with King for 20 years, while historians observe that he called the Senator “Miss Nancy” and Buchanan his “better half.”

More just lately, in 2012, historian James Loewen claimed that he was in “no doubt” the Nineteenth-century chief had been gay.

“There can be no doubt that James Buchanan was gay, before, during, and after his four years in the White House. Moreover, the nation knew it, too—he was not far into the closet. Today, I know no historian who has studied the matter and thinks Buchanan was heteroinappropriate.”

It was also rumored that the 1970’s chief Richard Nixon had embarked on an affair with his close pal Bebe Rebozo. Former Lyndon B. Johnson aide Bobby Baker claimed that Rebozo and Nixon had been “close like lovers”.

It’s completely doable that the U.S. could have had an LGBTQ chief already, as being gay was only totally legalized across the nation in 2003, just over 20 years in the past.

The state of Illinois grew to become the first state to decriminalize same-sex acts in 1962, and 34 presidents had already served before then. Despite legalization, being gay is still not totally accepted by everybody in the U.S., relying on non secular and personal beliefs.
