Bryson DeChambeau has reaffirmed his loyalty to LIV Golf following the rival circuit’s announcement that it should formally lose its future funding from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund.
LIV Golf disclosed on Thursday that the PIF – which pumped more than $5 billion into the breakaway league – will pull its financial backing after the 2026 season concludes. The sudden announcement also revealed that PIF chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan would resign from his function as LIV board chairman.
While President Donald Trump has expressed his want to see LIV gamers rejoin the PGA Tour, questions linger about what the future holds for the league and its opponents. Following Al-Rumayyan’s departure, LIV named Gene Davis and Jon Zinman to head a “newly-established independent board”. Meanwhile, Phil Mickelson warned he is ‘detonated’ modifications of PGA Tour lifeline.
Rather than relying on Public Investment Fund capital, LIV Golf is now concentrating “on securing long-term financial partners to support its transition from a foundational launch phase to a diversified, multi-partner investment model.”
With the future of LIV Golf abruptly unsure, a number of gamers have already began weighing their choices for the 2027 season.

According to The Athletic’s Brody Miller, DeChambeau and his representatives held conferences with organizations during Masters week to “discuss possible options if he chose to leave LIV.” The two-time U.S. Open Champion’s current deal with LIV Golf is set to conclude at the end of this season, with his reported asking price to re-sign standing at “up to $500 million.”
Speaking to Flushing It on Friday, DeChambeau rapidly dismissed the hypothesis while emphasizing that his major focus is on serving to LIV Golf in their pursuit of new funding sources. “It’s completely untrue. I’m working as hard as I can to find a solution,” he said. “I’m committed to making team golf work in the best way possible.
“I believe there’s a place for it in the ecosystem and I need to continue to grow the sport across the world. That’s always been our mission and it is never been more true than now.”
DeChambeau revealed that he is also dedicated to supporting the next generation of golfers. “We’re building a bunch of junior golf occasions proper now and each workforce is trying to construct junior golf academies,” he added. “That’s one thing that we have been working on for virtually three or 4 months now.
“We’re looking to host an event here coming up, probably in the next, I’d say, couple of months, because we want to do something special by the Team Championship. There’s definitely some really cool things in the works.”
While DeChambeau maintained that he has no plans to go away LIV Golf, Trump voiced his want to see the 32-year-old and Rory McIlroy face off against one another on a common foundation. Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office on Thursday, Trump expressed his want for all skilled golfers to compete against one another: “I do believe that all of the golfers should be playing against each other,” including, “We were viewing something as a monopoly, but it’s the opposite of a monopoly.”
Trump went on to voice his enthusiasm for high-profile matchups: “I want to see Rory playing Bryson DeChambeau. I want to see big Jon Rahm playing…. Scottie, who’s so great. Right. Scottie Scheffler is great. And I want to see him play Jon Rahm and Bryson and all the different guys.”
The President also pointed to the appeal of LIV Golf’s expertise pool, drawing a comparability to the Masters: “They have great players on LIV Golf. It’s almost like people want to see… that’s why the Masters are so good, because you saw everybody play together.”
