Kid Rock confronted a number of issues with his Rock The Country music pageant before it even started, and he is experiencing even more now that it is kicked off.

On Friday, May 1, the 55-year-old nation rapper’s Rock the Country music pageant, dubbed the “MAGA Music Fest,” despite organizers strongly sustaining it’s a non-political celebration of American tradition and pleasure, kicked off in Bellville, Texas. It is predicted to continue until September 12. However, since the lineup for Kid Rock‘s eight-town event was announced in mid-January, it has generated important controversy and backlash.

Multiple artists initially scheduled to carry out withdrew months in advance, including Ludacris, Morgan Wade, Carter Faith, Creed, and Shinedown. The two-day stop in Anderson, South Carolina, was scrapped fully after artists exited.

Kid Rock, whose real identify is Robert James Ritchie, has even lowered ticket costs, angering those who purchased early tickets for the event, which is a multi-stop tour tied to the 250th anniversary of the United States.

Now, the singer does not appear to have been dealt a break as “excessive rainfall” has marred the opening evening in Texas. Here are all the issues Kid Rock has confronted with his music pageant.

The lineup for Kid Rock’s Rock the Country music pageant boasted a full listing of artists, but many dropped out months before it kicked off.

Early in the lineup’s announcement, it was reported that Ludacris would carry out, but his identify no longer appeared on the pageant’s web site by the end of January.

Ludacris’ rep claimed it was “a mix-up” that he was ever half of the lineup in the first place. “Lines got crossed, and he wasn’t supposed to be on there,” his rep said (Entertainment Weekly).

Then, Morgan Wade, Carter Faith, Creed, and Shinedown backed out of the pageant. The two-day stop in Anderson, South Carolina, was scrapped fully after artists withdrew.

“Shinedown is everyone’s band,” the group wrote in a post asserting their departure. “Our band’s purpose is to unite, not divide.” However, they said, they might no longer be collaborating in the pageant and acknowledged that the alternative would spark disagreement. They added that they didn’t need to be half of one thing they believed might “create further division.”

“Rock the Country was created to unite people through music. Our lineups and our crowds reflect that sentiment — a wide range of voices, backgrounds, and stories that make up this country,” the pageant account posted to Instagram on February 9.

“We’re truly disappointed we won’t be bringing the show to Anderson. Our fans work hard for their money, and we refuse to put on a show that doesn’t meet the standard they deserve.”

Most lately, Jelly Roll pulled out of the June 28, 2026, show in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, citing scheduling conflicts. Staind took his place. He stays confirmed for the Bloomingdale, Georgia, and Ashland, Kentucky, dates.

Organizers have supplied tickets for Kid Rock’s music pageant at 50 p.c off, citing rising fuel prices as the purpose for the steep reductions.

The low cost, announced on April 15, dropped single-day normal admission tickets to $59 and weekend passes to $99 for a number of dates on the multi-city tour.

“Fuel costs are up, and we want to help! In response to rising transportation costs, you can enjoy up to 50% off general admission passes,” organizers said in a assertion selling the deal.

Social media rapidly crammed with complaints from early patrons who said they believed costs would rise.

“So can I get a partial refund on the tickets I already bought? It’s not very fair to discount the tickets after people bought them for full price,” one fan wrote on Instagram.

Another added, “You guys said the longer we wait, prices will go up, and now this. I would have saved almost $450 if I had waited till now. This isn’t cool.”

Now, starring in a video alongside Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, Kid Rock has announced that in honor of the U.S.’s 250th birthday, he is “giving back to our military and veterans.” He said 250 recipients will obtain up to 4 tickets each to his exhibits on the Freedom 250 Tour and the Rock The Country music pageant.

The two-day opening event in Texas boasts a roster of distinguished nation artists, including Jason Aldean, Brantley Gilbert, and Ella Langley, with Kid Rock headlining.

Day one, on May 1, though, noticed unexpected rain showers. While the event is technically “rain or shine,” organizers still had to announce some manufacturing delays. Gates to the Austin County Fairgrounds had been scheduled to open at 1:30 p.m. local time.

However, the rain pushed that time back to 3:00 p.m. When the climate did not clear, they again pushed the time to 5:00 p.m., considerably cutting into the artists’ stage time.

A 3rd delay pushed the mark to 6:30 p.m., leaving festivalgoers distraught. “I’m not going to lie; I was cursing a lot. I was cursing a lot,” Ashley, a ticket holder, told the Mirror US.

“The 3 o’clock delay was alright, but then the 5 o’clock delay was like, ‘Okay, now you’re just playing.’ The 6 o’clock was like, ‘Okay, I don’t know if it’s going to happen,'” Albert, another ticket holder added. Ashley succinctly commented, “I want a refund.”

The pageant reminded followers on Instagram, “We love Bellville. All community parking lots should be treated with respect. Let’s take care of the groups that have stepped up and helped out. Park in designated areas only and let’s leave it better than we found it.”

Ashley also famous the nightmare parking. Their group drove from San Antonio to the small city, leaving at 8:00 a.m. and arriving at the pageant grounds around 10:00 a.m. They immediately hit parking difficulties.

“We’ve been driving around in circles, trying to find parking, trying to find where parking is, and when we finally did find it, I saw that everybody was in ponchos.”

She additional explained that they determined to buy umbrellas because the ponchos offered out, but the pageant will not permit them to deliver the $30 umbrellas onto the grounds.
