Sarah Beeny beforehand opened up about the impact her breast cancer battle had on her marriage to husband Graham Swift before getting the all-clear earlier in 2023. The property professional, 54, had joked her marriage was “hanging on by a thread”, as the couple navigated her cancer diagnosis. In a new interview, Sarah admitted the remark despatched shockwaves within her household.

The mum-of-four revealed she her brother was bombarded with phone calls after the remark hit headlines.

Speaking to The Mirror, Sarah said, “I had a call from my brother Diccon saying he’d had about 15 phone calls saying, ‘We’re so sorry Sarah and Graham are getting divorced.’ We were like, ‘What? We’re fine and doing okay. I’m not giving up now.’

Sarah had been married to her husband Graham, an artist and businessman with whom she has been with for over 30 years.

The couple met when Sarah was 18 and Graham was 19, and they have four sons together.

The TV presenter admitted they often have their “ups and downs”.

She commented: “There have been bumps in the road in 34 years. It would have been so boring otherwise. It’s not been perfect all along, but what relationship is? That’s the truth of it. I’ve learned in life that if you don’t have the bad times, then you don’t appreciate the good times.

“My children sometimes say, ‘You and Dad argue a lot’, and there are days when I don’t fancy him and divorce seems like a good idea. But the next minute they see us in the garden holding hands and they know we love each other. It’s healthy for them to see that.”

Despite all her profession success, Sarah, announced she will likely be fronting her latest new Channel 4 show I Bought It At Auction.

In addition, she is relaunching her pioneering relationship web site MySingleFriend.
