Republican Representative Brian Fitzpatrick, who is set to marry Fox News host Jacqui Heinrich, is poised to problem President Donald Trump over a controversial funding determination.

On May 20, MeidasTouch’s Chief Washington Correspondent Scott MacFarlane posted an online clip of his interview with the 52-year-old Fitzpatrick. Their dialogue centered on President Trump‘s $1.7 billion fund, which is meant to compensate allies who declare they had been unfairly focused by the Biden administration. The anti-weaponization fund has drawn criticism for not explicitly excluding January 6 rioters from potential payouts.

MacFarlane started, “What do you think of the $1.7 billion fund…” before being cut off.

Fitzpatrick interjected, “Bad news. We’re gonna kill it,” studies the Irish Star.

MacFarlane responded, “You’re going to try and kill it? Wow! Okay? How?”

The congressman explained, “Well, we’re considering legislative options. We’re going to run a letter to the Attorney General to start considering a legislative option.”

We’re to unpack the legal mash, but he cannot do that.”

Fitzpatrick and Heinrich became engaged in June 2025. The host drew the president’s ire on May 10 when she interviewed California Representative Ro Khanna on her Fox News program, The Sunday Briefing.

The commander-in-chief took to Truth Social to accuse Heinrich of failing to issue a “pushback or competent rebuttal” against Khanna.

Following his criticism of Heinrich, Trump argued that regardless of how “truthful and balanced” Fox News may be, the network would always be “destroyed by skilled liars, conmen, and liberal, crooked politicians,” — a sentiment he believed resonated with his MAGA base’s disdain for the channel.

In a pointed message directed at the Sunday Briefing host, Trump wrote: “You may pay attention to FoxNews all day long, completely devour it, but then, when you hear SLEAZEBAGS, like Congressman Ro Khanna, ‘a wolf in sheep’s clothes,’ LIE, LIE, LIE, AND LIE AGAIN, without any pushback, or competent rebuttal from an anchor, in this case,” the president blasted.

The president continued his broadside: “Jacqui Heinrich, the whole Common Sense dialogue that has been going on all day at Fox is totally obliterated!

“This is why MAGA Republicans, who are actually close to 100 percent of the Party, hate Fox, despite the wonderful contributions made by so many of their great anchors and commentators. Hard to win Elections like this!” he fumed.

Khanna fired back at Trump on X, stating: “This is why I go on Fox.”

“This is why I talk about an economic agenda to build steel, ship and battery plants in hollowed out communities,” he added. “This is why I talk to everyone, including Trump voters, without hurling insults. This is how Democrats will win and unite the country.”
