Kid Rock snubbed from MAGA event after Memorial Day | Music News
Kid Rock’s followers aren’t glad after he was seemingly snubbed from a MAGA music competition.
Freedom 250 has just announced the line-up for the Great American State Fair, including artists such as The Commodores and Vanilla Ice. The competition will happen at the National Mall in Washington, DC, from June 25 through to July 10.
While there’s a quantity of musicians on the line-up, one individual lacking is Kid Rock, whose real identify is Robert James Ritchie. The line-up was announced by Freedom 250 on Instagram as they urged followers to “RSVP now.” Kid Rock’s snub from the line-up comes after he was criticized for his Memorial Day message and told to “go away” while selling a new music.
Sharing the competition line-up on Instagram, Freedom 250 wrote, “JUST ANNOUNCED: The lineup for The Great American State Fair is here — and it’s bringing the hits.
“Martina McBride, Young MC, C+C Music Factory, Vanilla Ice, Milli Vanilli, The Commodores, Morris Day & The Time, Flo Rida, Bret Michaels …and many more. 16 days. 56 states and territories. One unforgettable celebration of America’s 250th — live on the National Mall.”
While it wasn’t revealed why Kid Rock isn’t taking part in the festival, the 55-year-old singer is currently on his Rock The Country tour, with performances not expected to wrap up until September 12.
On June 27, he’ll be performing at Sioux Falls, South Dakota, before heading to Hastings, Michigan, on August 8. The tour will wrap up with a performance in Hamburg, New York, on September 12.
Kid Rock’s fans aren’t happy with the line-up for Freedom 250’s Great American State Fair and took to the Instagram comments to share their annoyance.
“Lol is this a joke?” one person questioned, while another fumed, “@kidrock or @jasonaldean? Blasphemy!” A third person echoed, “Milli Vanilli? We need Kid Rock and Jason Aldean.”
“This doesn’t look good,” one fan feared as a fifth Instagram user said, “Come on. Do better!”
Kid Rock’s absence from the line-up comes after he was recently trolled for his Memorial Day address at the Pentagon. Speaking to members of the military, he said, “On this Memorial Day, we’re remembering the sacrifice and service of so many who usually are not with us today.
“It’s a special day, and we’re thinking of them. Once again, I want to say thank you. God bless all of you for your sacrifice and service. Keep on Kid Rockin’ in the free world.”
Viewers did not benefit from the speech, however, with one individual fuming, “Nobody wants to see Kid Rock, especially behind the podium at the Pentagon on Memorial Day.” Another chimed in, “Nobody wants to see kid rock. Full stop.”
