Michaela Strachan and her co-presenter Chris Packham fronted Springwatch in barely different situations in contrast to the past few days. The pair continued presenting live from the National Trust Crom in Northern Ireland, but their apparel was a far cry from what viewers had seen them carrying earlier in the week.
The two presenters wrapped up in heavy coats, while Chris topped off his wet-weather look with a bucket hat as they battled the rain in Northern Ireland. They opened the show from beneath a large marquee as Chris joked that viewers had been tuning into “Rainwatch”.
Before the show kicked off, he said: “Welcome to Rainwatch 2026. Mic, it hasn’t even taken a week before we’ve had to put on the fleeces and the puffers and retreat inside the teepee.
Michaela added: “I’ve received to be sincere. I wasn’t anticipating this.”
Chris ushered toward the gloomy conditions as his co-host quipped: “Hence why I’m not carrying a hat like that.”
As she went to sit down, the 60-year-old remarked: “This is soaking moist!”
Minutes later, Chris admitted he had a “very moist backside”.
