Celine Dion musical slammed by Tony Awards viewers | TV Shows

A large quantity of musical performances wowed audiences tuning in to watch the Tony Awards on Sunday, June 7–besides for one, for the musical Titanique, which was panned on social media over the lead actress.

The musical, which was nominated for 4 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Book, Best Performance by an Actress in a main Role in a Musical for Marla Mindelle, and Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Musical for Layton Williams, was one of a number of to take the stage at New York’s Radio City Music Hall during the printed.

The show, a reimagining of James Cameron’s 1997 hit movie from Celine Dion’s level of view, which some have since called a ‘nightmare,’ noticed its stars take to the stage to carry out a medley of two songs: I’m Alive and My Heart Will Go On.

Unfortunately, many have been left unimpressed by the quantity.

Taking to social media, many slammed the efficiency, most notably Mindelle, whom they felt wasn’t up to par to carry out as Celine Dion.

An further individual griped about their expertise seeing it in individual, saying, “The only thing worse than this segment is sitting through the actual musical. Still waiting on a refund from Titanique. Ugggh!”

Another who noticed it live on stage admitted that the efficiency wasn’t Mindelle’s best, sharing the expertise was different on Broadway, and wrote, “I’m still sad because I saw Titanique and Marla Mindelle was phenomenal. That performance was not her.”

The show confronted off against The Lost Boys, Schmigadoon!, and Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York) for best musical, and Mindelle was up against Sara Chase from Schmigadoon!, Caissie Levy for Ragtime, and Christiani Pitts for Two Strangers.

The show wound up dropping to Schmigadoon! for Best Musical, Levy for Best Actress, Ali Louis Bourzgui from The Lost Boys for Actor in a Featured Role, and Cinco Paul from Schmigadoon for Best Book.
